Scoring

• Games to 11 points. You must win by 2; at 10-10, play continues until someone leads by 2.
• A match is best of 3 games (best of 5 for finals or grudge matches).
• Every rally scores a point, whoever served.

Serving

• Two serves each, then rotate. At 10-10, alternate every serve.
• Toss the ball up from an open palm and strike it behind the table edge. No serving out of your fingers.
• The serve must hit your side once, then the other side. Anywhere on the table is fine in singles.
• A serve that clips the net and lands in is a let: replay it, no limit, no penalty.

During play

• Edges of the table surface count. The sides of the table do not.
• The ball may only bounce once on your side, and you must hit it before it bounces twice.
• No touching the table with your free hand, and no moving the table.
• If the ball hits the net during a rally and goes over, play on.
• Volleying (hitting before the bounce) loses the point.

Doubles

• Serve diagonally, from your right half to theirs.
• Partners must alternate hits. Yes, even when it is chaos.

House rules

• Interrupted by a boss, a customer, or a fire drill: replay the point.
• Ball hits a light, a ceiling, or a coworker: point over, no replays.
• Disputed point with no witnesses: replay it. Disputed twice: whoever is losing calls it.
• The loser records the result. The winner confirms it. Only confirmed matches count.
• Winner stays on, max three matches in a row when others are waiting.
